Taking a Goodiebag Drop from Concept to Reality in 10 Minutes

Sending money gifts in Nigeria has never been this direct. No wallet required, no bank account details to chase down, and definitely no queue at a POS terminal. You create a gift packet, share a link, and successful claims are processed through Paystack to supported phone-linked fintech accounts. That is the whole thing. Here is how to do it in 10 minutes.

What You Will Need

• A Paystack-supported payment method, such as card, bank transfer, USSD, or any checkout option shown by Paystack
• The total amount you want to gift (minimum depends on recipient count)
• The phone numbers of your recipients (they must be on OPay, PalmPay, or Moniepoint)
• About 10 minutes of focused time

Step 1: Pick Your Bag Type (1 minute)

Go to getgoodiebag.com/create and choose between two modes. Equal Split splits your total evenly among all recipients. Lucky Split lets successful recipients receive different amounts determined by the system, so some people may receive more than others. If you are sending to a group where everyone should get the same amount, go with Equal Split. If you want a fun surprise element, Lucky Split is your pick.

Step 2: Set Your Amount and Recipients (2 minutes)

Enter the total amount you want to send and how many people should be able to claim. The minimum adjusts automatically based on the number of recipients and the split mode. The Create page shows the required minimum before payment. ₦20 transfer fee per recipient applies.

Step 3: Add Recipients (2 minutes)

You have two options here. Choose the number of recipients and share the link. You can also use the Guest List feature to restrict claims to specific phone numbers. Goodiebag accepts guest lists, so if you already have a WhatsApp group member list, you can paste it in. The bag has a single claim PIN controlled by the sender, and the Guest List restricts claims to specific phone numbers.

Step 4: Pay with Your Card (2 minutes)

You will be redirected to Paystack's secure checkout page. Enter your card details and complete the payment. The charge includes the bag amount plus the Goodiebag platform fee and fulfilment fee (see our Fees page for details). Once payment is confirmed, your Goodiebag is live. You will see your unique share link and claim PIN.

Save your share link and claim PIN before closing the page. Copy the link, share it with your people, and release the PIN only when you are ready for claims to begin.

Step 5: Share the Link (1 minute)

Copy the link and send it to your recipients. They open it, enter the PIN, and the claim is processed through Paystack to their supported phone-linked fintech account. No app to download, no account numbers to type. Just a link and a PIN.

What Happens After They Claim

Each successful claim is processed through Paystack to the recipient's supported phone-linked fintech account, subject to verification, bank availability, and payment partner processing. You will get a notification when someone claims. If a payout fails (wrong account number, bank downtime), the claim is marked as failed and the slot is restored so the recipient can try again or you can reassign it.
