Pricing model

Simple fees, with stamp duty clearly stated

3 percent platform fee, capped at ₦3,000

This supports the Goodiebag product, live claim experience, sender dashboard, support, and security work. The percentage fee stops at ₦3,000.

₦20 per recipient

This fulfilment fee is charged for every intended recipient slot. It helps cover the cost of sending money to each claimant.

No Goodiebag claim fee

Recipients do not pay Goodiebag to claim. For payouts below ₦10,000, recipients generally receive the claimed amount without any Goodiebag deduction. For payouts of ₦10,000 or more, statutory stamp duty, bank charges, or payment partner charges may apply.

₦50 stamp duty on large payouts

If an individual recipient payout is ₦10,000 or more, the statutory ₦50 stamp duty is borne by the receiver and may be deducted from that payout. Bank charges or payment partner charges may also apply where required.

₦500 minimum total

The smallest Goodiebag total is ₦500. This keeps tiny drops practical while still making room for small group gifting.

Dynamic minimum per recipient

The minimum per recipient depends on the total amount and split mode. The create page calculates the required minimum automatically based on your settings.

Shown before payment

The full amount due is displayed before Paystack checkout. The sender sees the Goodiebag value, platform fee, fulfilment fee, and total.

Who pays what

Senders pay fees. Receivers see stamp duty on larger payouts.

Understanding who pays what helps everyone plan better. Here is a breakdown by role.

If you are the sender

You pay the platform fee (3 percent capped at NGN 3,000) and the fulfilment fee (NGN 20 per intended recipient slot). The total is displayed before you fund the bag through Paystack checkout. No surprise charges after payment.

If you are a recipient

Goodiebag does not charge you to claim. If your individual payout is NGN 10,000 or more, the statutory NGN 50 stamp duty may be deducted from your payout by the payment processor. Bank charges or payment partner charges may also apply where required.

The dynamic minimum per recipient

The minimum each person receives depends on the total bag amount, number of recipients, and split mode (Equal or Lucky). The create page calculates this automatically. Check before you fund.

What happens to unclaimed funds

Goodiebags expire after the sender's chosen duration. Unclaimed funds are normally refunded after expiry, subject to Paystack, bank, card network, fraud, compliance, and technical processing. Refund timing may vary.

Fee-related issues to watch for

Most fee confusion comes from a few common situations. Here is what to expect.

Stamp duty on high-value claims

If a single recipient's payout is NGN 10,000 or more, the NGN 50 stamp duty is borne by the recipient. The sender cannot prepay this on their behalf. It is deducted at payout time.

Minimum total is NGN 500

The smallest Goodiebag you can create is NGN 500 total. The minimum per recipient is dynamic and depends on the number of people and split mode. Use the create page to check the exact minimum for your setup.

Refunds are not instant

Unclaimed funds are returned to the sender after the bag expires, but the timing depends on Paystack, the card network, or the bank that processed the original payment. Refunds may take several business days in some cases.

Fees are not refundable

Platform and fulfilment fees cover the cost of processing the bag regardless of how many slots are claimed. These fees are not refunded if some recipients do not claim.

Fee questions

Who pays the fees?+
The sender pays Goodiebag's service fee (platform and fulfilment) when creating the bag. If an individual payout is ₦10,000 or more, the statutory ₦50 stamp duty is borne by the receiver.
Do recipients receive less than the amount shown?+
Goodiebag does not charge recipients a claim fee. For payouts below ₦10,000, recipients generally receive the claimed amount without any Goodiebag deduction. For payouts of ₦10,000 or more, statutory stamp duty, bank charges, payment partner charges, or other lawful deductions may apply and may be deducted from the recipient's payout where required.
What is stamp duty?+
Stamp duty is a statutory charge that can apply to qualifying electronic money transfers. For Goodiebag, if a receiver's payout is ₦10,000 or more, the ₦50 stamp duty is borne by that receiver.
Why is there a per-recipient fee?+
A Goodiebag is not one transfer. It can become many individual transfers, one for each successful claimant. The per-recipient fee helps cover that fulfilment workload.
What if some people do not claim?+
Goodiebags expire after the sender's chosen duration (1, 2, 6, or up to 24 hours). Unclaimed funds are normally refunded to the sender after expiry, subject to Paystack, bank, card network, fraud, compliance, and technical processing. Refund timing may vary.
